Dixon Moultrie began working for the Hillsboro Police Department in 1979. Dixon found that his niche in the department was on midnights. He was able to tell if anything had been moved or disturbed throughout the night and if there was an open door or window he would find it. Dixon was diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 1999. He lived just a few weeks after he was diagnosed.
